A useful tool for managing our stress

One of the “tools” that I am learning to keep in my “toolbox” on this journey is the use of binaural beats and certain sound frequencies to get to that place of “zen”.

What is sound healing? What are binaural beats?

Sound therapy and binaural beats are a form of cognitive behavior therapy used today. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. Numerous research studies suggest that CBT leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life. In many studies, CBT has been demonstrated to be as effective as, or more effective than, other forms of psychological therapy or psychiatric medications.

Some people may need help decreasing their anxiety, while others might want to increase their concentration or deepen their level of meditation.

the word “binaural” simply means “related to two ears.” binaural beats are a form of brainwave entrainment, and they are a form of audio technology that combines two different types of sound frequencies (one in each ear).

This sounds like an individual, novel tone, but the theory is that your brain picks up on a single tone that sits between the two separate frequencies.

Potential benefits of binaural beats

  • reduced stress and anxiety
  • increased focus, concentration, and motivation
  • improved confidence
  • better long term memory after exposure to beta pattern frequencies, according to a 2019 studyTrusted Source
  • deeper meditation
  • enhanced psychomotor performance and mood

I can usually only handle about 15 minutes of news, and turn off the television and turn to these beautiful sounds. Sometimes I choose one for quiet reflection. Sometimes I choose one that clears all of my Chakra’s at the end of the day, sometimes I choose one to inspire me while watering my plants and flowers outside.🌺

I’m going to start a weekly playlist for those on this journey that believe in this therapy. My first gift to you is “The God Experience”. There are no spoken words, and I believe that I read somewhere it is tuned to His words in the Old Testament. It can bring up emotions, and if it does let yourself experience them. It’s the magic working!

This is one that I like to sit outside to listen to. I light a small flame in the fire bowl, and look over our sanctuary. I think we have been programmed to stuff our emotions and feelings down and wear a mask to conform to what society wants us to be. I’m trying to learn to just be content and my authentic self…..a little more refined, but speaking my truth.

DO NOT USE while driving or operating equipment and best experienced with headphones.

Keep connecting your body, mind and spirit. Take time for self reflection.

Make it a great weekend! ❤️
